# How to update

Step by step documentation how to properly update your prison resource

#### Make a Backup

**Before doing anything**, create a backup of your old prison resource.

* Go to your `resources` folder.
* Find these folders:
  * `[prison]`
* Right-click → **Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder**.
* Name it something like `prison_backup.zip`.

✅ Now you're safe in case something goes wrong.

#### Delete the Old Prison

* Delete the following folders from your `resources` folder:
  * `[prison]`

⚠️ Make sure they're **really gone** before continuing.

#### Download and Install the Latest Version

* Download the latest version of the resource from [CFX Portal](https://portal.cfx.re/assets/).
* Move the new `[prison]` folder into your `resources` folder.
