# Vault door opens poorly

If the vault doors are opening in the wrong direction, it is caused by incorrect settings during creation. When creating vault doors, you configure three parameters:

* Door heading in the closed state
* Door heading in the open state
* Door opening direction

When setting the direction, make sure the doors are not opening in the **opposite direction** than intended. If they are, you need to change it—usually using the **Arrow Up key (clockwise)** and **Arrow Down key (counterclockwise)**.

Once the doors rotate in the correct direction, confirm the setting by pressing **E**. The doors should then open and close properly in the correct direction.
