# Placing a Banner

Step by step documentation how to place a banner.

Follow these steps to place a banner in the world.

### Open the Banner Menu

Use the `/banners` command to open the banner menu.

### Select a Banner

Choose any banner from the list and click on the **Editor** button.

### Edit the Banner

The menu will close, and you'll see the selected banner in front of you.

* Scroll up to increase the size of the banner.
* Scroll down to decrease the size of the banner.
* Press `Backspace` to exit the editor.
* Press `E` to place the banner.

Help keys are displayed in the upper left corner of your screen.

### Place It

The banner placement is based on your player camera - aim where you want to place the banner, and it will appear in that location as shown in the preview.

If you can't place the banner, a message will explain why - make sure your placement adheres to the rules of the server (e.g. not too close to another banner).
